Glowdive Science

At Glowdive, we work hand in hand with Scientific Institutions, Universities, Oceanographic Institutes, and other organizations, developing custom underwater imaging projects.
Some examples of projects manufactured by Glowdive:

  • Towed camera systems for seabed monitoring: Towed video systems consist of an underwater camera mounted on a stabilizing sled which, when towed by a vessel, sends the video signal via cable (up to 100 m) to a monitor onboard the vessel.

Towed video cameraIn this case, the images are georeferenced to monitor Posidonia seagrass meadows in the Mediterranean.

  • Glowdive is a pioneer in the manufacture of video monitors that add corrected GPS positioning to the incoming video image. This allows underwater video images to be georeferenced in real time, correcting the camera position relative to the vessel.
  • BRUVS (Baited Remote Underwater Video Systems): These dual stereoscopic camera systems allow fish population studies and make it easy to calculate fish size regardless of the distance to the camera.

BRUVS Europe

Glowdive BRUVS are innovative in their design, offering significant advantages over other designs on the market, such as the ability to be converted between benthic and pelagic modes, and fixed camera positioning that virtually eliminates the need for calibration.

  • Underwater cameras with permanent 24/7 internet streaming
  • Laser measuring device.
  • Mounts for conducting transects with wide-angle cameras.
  • Underwater writing slates for field surveys.
